Since 2007, my consulting journey has been deeply rooted in the retail sector, with a focus on fashion, publishing, and decor. While navigating the dynamic landscapes of these industries, I extended my expertise to assist small startups across various sectors. What became evident was the striking similarity in the recipe for success, transcending industry boundaries.

Much like a personal journey, it's often easier to articulate what one wishes to avoid rather than declaring a definitive stance. Through these experiences, I realized that regardless of the industry, the core challenge lies in identifying the key story, crafting a brand narrative, and developing a distinct voice. My steadfast role has been to guide brands through this process, helping them articulate not only what they don't want to be but, more importantly, what they want to stand for.

In my line of work, I often find myself wondering why some projects and clients just click effortlessly. The connection is there, they get my communication style, and everything falls into place. On the flip side, there are those clients or potential projects that, right from the first meeting, feel off somehow. I'm intrigued by the differences between people and cultures. I enjoy digging into what values we all share beneath our surface distinctions. Looking back at my successful brand journeys, these shared values are like the secret sauce in my favourite recipes. They make the connection real, simple, and lasting.

We bring a unique approach to branding strategies by leveraging the dynamic synergy of a mother-daughter duo when projects require in-house design and communication initiative.

Through the years Emma was exposed to all the hustle and bustle of the creative industry that Engela unfolded by hanging around the creative geniuses that soon became her friends and mentors. It wasn’t long before she followed suit - just like everyone expected! While sharing a work environment during COVID-19 Lockdown we discovered how easy it was to work together, and our first project as a pair began.

Many projects later we know that Engela’s decades of experience and Emma’s unique ability to translate communication tools through graphic design work like a good croissant and a coffee.

We’ll keep fostering creativity, empathy, and a holistic understanding of our client's needs based on our foundation of familial trust, shared values, and complementary skills - while having fun in the process!

MOTHER-DAUGHTER DUO

As a youngster Emma was a natural when it came to art and design. She designed her first logo for a coffee franchise at 14 and the rest was history. A career in Marketing started after her B.A. in Communication and Media Studies, but her constant itch to dive deeper into brand-focused projects grew while working in a corporate 8-5, and her freelance projects expanded into EDT Design Studio overseeing and executing conceptual design and account management.
